Your contacts are critical so keep them organized

what do you use to manage your contacts? Outlook, address book, paper?

plaxo.com is a great way to keep your contacts online. Lisa is mentioning industry specific networks

sendoutcards.com is an easy way to have cards sent out. People still like mail for special occassions

TIP: emails get caught in spam and lost. Using the phone is still good to use if you don't get an email reply

At the end of your follow up email ask a question like "what pother networking events have you found to be worth going to?"

Most people forget to even follow up with an email after them make a great contact
